David Ackert, M.A.
Founder and CEO
David Ackert, M.A., is President at Ackert and its subsidiaries. He is a thought leader at the intersection of sales acceleration software and business development coaching. Over the past two decades, David has pioneered revenue acceleration programs for hundreds of professional services firms around the globe.
He is the founder of several technology platforms including the PipelinePlus software suite. His programs are winners of “Your Honor Awards” in both the U.S. and Canada and have been featured in NLJ’s “Technologies on the Rise.” David regularly keynotes at partner retreats and speaks at industry conferences. He also serves as a guest lecturer at USC’s Marshall School of Business, Carnegie Mellon University, and at the UCLA School of Law.
David’s work has been published and quoted in several business books and media, including the Los Angeles Times, the National Review, the Daily Journal, the Wall Street Journal, Above the Law, Attorney at Work, The Recorder, and the Los Angeles Business Journal. His Market Leaders Podcast has won several JD Supra Reader’s Choice Awards.
David volunteers as a Big Brother with the Big Brothers and Sisters program in Los Angeles. He is also the co-founder of Voices in Harmony, a mentoring organization that has worked with at-risk youth around the globe. He co-produced and appeared in the documentary film, “After Kony: Staging Hope,” chronicling mentoring programs he helped to design and facilitate for former child soldiers in Northern Uganda. The film was used as part of an awareness-raising campaign that raised millions of dollars for health and education in underserved Ugandan communities. David’s charitable work earned the “Difference Maker” award from one of his alma maters, Ithaca College.
David holds a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and is a Fellow at the College of Law Practice Management.
Rebecca Nassi, JD, MA
Rebecca Nassi, JD, MA, is Vice President and Co-founder at Ackert. She is also a highly sought-after advisor among Ackert’s esteemed faculty of Senior Coaches. Rebecca’s expertise in coaching draws on her own experiences as an entrepreneur, service provider, and former practicing attorney, and her work is further grounded by her Master’s in Psychology, coaching certification, as well as research in wellness and neuroscience.
Rebecca is passionate about positively impacting her community through her involvement in various non-profits. She contributes her expertise to various organizations in the Los Angeles area. She has also worked with war-torn youth in Northern Uganda, chronicled in the award-winning documentary feature film, “After Kony: Staging Hope,” available on Amazon Prime.
When not working with clients or researching the latest trends in neuroscience, Rebecca whips up a matcha latte and unplugs over a good book (fantasy and magic realism are her favorite genres) or TV show (mostly BBC period and crime dramas). She also enjoys meditation and long hikes by the ocean and is an enthusiastic dog-lover.
Chief Revenue Officer
Tara Osborn, Chief Revenue Officer at Ackert, is responsible for the company’s revenue-generation strategy and execution as well as go-to-market approach. Tara creates alignment between the marketing, sales, customer success and product teams to achieve the company’s goals and objectives.
Before joining ACKERT, Tara was the Director of Marketing at CMIT Solutions, the nation’s leading IT Franchise, where she built repeatable marketing systems and processes for 250+ franchisees.
Based on her accomplishments at CMIT, Tara was recognized by Franchise Update Media as one of the nation’s top female franchise marketers. She also received numerous recommendations and endorsements for her results-oriented, hands-on style of marketing that generated first-time revenue breakthroughs for CMIT.
Before joining CMIT, Tara was Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Endurance House International, a retail concept franchised across the United States and acquired in 2018. She envisioned Endurance House as more than just another place to buy shoes or a bike, and based on her marketing innovations, the retailer became the preeminent destination for endurance enthusiasts of every level.
Being part of the winning team at Ackert is the culmination of Tara’s years of experience as a professional marketer and entrepreneur.
Director of Marketing
Donna Fulmer, Director of Marketing, oversees the marketing strategy and tactics designed to support PipelinePlus software and services. She is responsible for PipelinePlus research and content and works alongside a team of extremely talented marketers who each bring their own talents and areas of expertise.
Prior to joining PipelinePlus, Donna was the Market Research and Communications Manager for an email marketing platform serving over one thousand retailers and an independent marketing consultant serving small to mid-size technology companies.
Donna began her career in public relations in New York City working for the medical division of Edelman, the world’s largest PR firm and then for a boutique PR firm serving home furnishings and fashion clients. After returning to Pennsylvania and before working in technology, she created and grew the PR department of a regional marketing firm, was an Account Manager for an advertising agency, served as Managing Editor of several regional lifestyle publications and was the Managing Editor and Co-owner of a regional women’s magazine.
Director of Client Success
Mollie Smith, Director of Client Success at Ackert oversees the client success team and sets the strategic plan for the Account Management organization, focusing on driving product adoption, leading a positive customer experience, and driving growth through gross renewals and net retention improvements.
At Ackert, based on her experience working with professional service firms, Mollie developed the Success Wheel approach for technology implementation and adoption. The unique six-step model serves to determine if a prospective firm is well-suited to achieve optimum success with PipelinePlus sales acceleration software and to guide clients through the steps required to reach and exceed usage and revenue goals.
Having spent over eight years in client-facing tech adoption roles both in the US and overseas, she harnesses her lived experience by using it to transform customer engagement models while re-aligning responsibilities across all post-sales functions.
Mollie started her technology career in account management at Groupon, before joining companies such as TapInfluence, Trustspilot, and Cint in customer success management roles.
Director of Advisory Services
Melissa Hoff is the Director of Advisory Services and a senior coach. She brings over 20 years of in-house and consulting experience to her role, which includes responsibility for ensuring smooth delivery of coaching and advisory services that meet our clients’ changing needs and expectations. With a background in business development strategy, coaching, strategic planning and client service interviews, Melissa brings a depth of experience and an understanding of professional service marketing.
Prior to her work with us, Melissa was a partner at the Zeughauser Group, a consultancy that specializes in marketing and business management for AmLaw 100 firms. As an in-house marketer, she spearheaded the marketing strategy at Garvey Schubert Barer and served as a Director in the marketing department at Preston Gates & Ellis (the 430-lawyer firm that is now K&L Gates). She has significant experience in advising and implementing business development strategies for a firm, as well as at the practice group and individual levels.
Melissa is a frequent speaker on law firm coaching and business development and is a leader in the legal marketing community. She was a founding member of the Seattle Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association, she served as the Chapter President in 2002 and again in 2015, and was the West Region President in 2019.
Director of Product Development
Tom O’Brien, MBA, Director of Product at Ackert, oversees product development and management. He works to continually enhance PipelinePlus sales acceleration software, optimizing U/X and functionality, and responding to current market needs.
Tom has been an entrepreneur for most of his career focusing on the intersection of business and technology.
Co-founder of Cyber Indemnity Solutions, Tom developed and architected the Insured Data Platform, the first PaaS implementation for the insurance of data for its true value. He is also an inventor with two issued patents.
In addition, Tom has worked with startups in the payments, Medtech, and Fintech fields, providing technical advice and strategy.
Tom has an MBA from Santa Clara University. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, surfing, and playing guitar.
